RANCHO L’ABRI MULTI-DISCIPLINARY TREATMENT TEAM Medical Director With over twenty-five years experience in the field of chemical dependency, John E. Milner, M.D., directs the treatment team of Rancho L’Abri. Certified in Addiction Medicine in 1986, he served on the California Society of Addiction Medicine’s Committee on Standards. With a special interest and having done extensive research in the treatment of the patient population with an inability to achieve abstinence of have difficulties maintaining abstinence, Dr. Milner established the Rancho L’Abri program with a sensitivity to the needs of those individuals who may be identified as relapse prone.

Having previously served as Medical Director of both adult and adolescent treatment programs, the impetus for the unique and effective Rancho L’Abri program grew out of his researched and evolved methodology. Committed to the delivery of solid patient care, Dr. Milner is on site on a full-time basis.

Executive Director

With an extensive background both in chemical dependency treatment and administration as well as in the criminal justice system, Rose M. Jones, A.C.A.T.A., assisted in the opening of Rancho L’Abri in 1984. Her responsibilities include administrative and clinical management. The heartbeat of day-to-day operations, she oversees all fiscal operations, directs quality improvement activity, and supervises the intake of each patient. A hands-on manager, she personally conducts each patient exit interview in order to obtain immediate input about the treatment program, necessary for effective evaluation.

Dedicated to the goal of each patient obtaining maximum benefit from the services provided by Rancho L’Abri, Ms. Jones’ leadership skills have resulted in a highly skilled and current professional treatment team.

Clinical Staff

Marvin E. Prigmore, Ph.D., conducts the family program for Rancho L’Abri. Skilled at family therapy, he works with individuals, couples and families. With an extensive background treating chemical dependency and dual diagnosis, he previously managed two alcohol and drug treatment programs. With solid roots in the San Diego community, he additionally served the Administrative Director of Alcohol Rehabilitation Services for a Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

Leonard Weigel, M.F.C.C., conducts individual and group psychotherapy. With a background including chemical dependency treatment within treatment centers, as well as in the criminal justice system, he brings a strong educational component to the Rancho L’Abri treatment team. With additional experience working with codependency and Adult Children of Alcoholic issues, he assists in the effective management of the dually diagnosed patients.

Robert E. Brockman, C.A.D.C., N.C.A.C.I., has extensive experience in education and lecturing on the recovery process. With an additional certification in relapse prevention, he provides significant contribution to the treatment of those patients identified as relapse prone. Having served as Program Director in other treatment settings, he is well experienced with case management and utilization review.

In addition, we have four experienced licensed therapists and certified addiction counselors.
